| NWAG’s
main activities have included: |

exchange of existing metocean data, reports
and information between members, |
|
|
preparation
of design & operational reports to assist in planning, drilling and
design, |
|
|
overview
studies of the oceanography of the area (particularly of ocean currents), |
|
|
specialist
desk studies (e.g. satellite data, ground-based HF radar), |
|
|
3-D
current modelling of the NWAG area, and |
|
|
close
liaison with other Atlantic Margin groups and Joint Industry Projects. |
| Since
1993, most of NWAG’s efforts have focussed on current
modelling of the complex and energetic environment of the region.
Early model development work was carried out by HydroQual Inc and then taken
further by the Nansen Centre. |
