Geographical area of interest

NWAG is for Operators with interests in UK waters west of the British Isles in the range 56° - 62° N and 1° - 10° W.

Most interest is focused on the slope and deep-water regions, including the Rockall Trough and particularly the Faroe-Shetland Channel.

This lies between the two island groups and is bounded to the south by the Wyville Thomson Ridge.  However, many NWAG studies must address metocean (particularly current) conditions further afield, in so far as these have an impact on the regime in the NWAG area itself.
